YggRO2 DEBUGGING TEST SERVER, We need more data and your help Options

This past week has been a week of being extremely busy and attempting to fix the selective character rollback issue with very little information without success. We cannot reproduce the problem ourselves on our local servers or on Ygg but have not given up. While we have "ideas" about what could be happening without more -detailed- information and detailed log files there isn't much we can do. So instead of giving up I have decided to open a "debug" copy (meaning It's a clone of YggRO2's database so you don't need new accounts) of the server for public testing for a few days.

I have activated the first quest in the series to obtain a 2nd weapon, and given the command to create the weapon (AFTER the slot is open by completing the first quest, which is obtained from Scacciano Morrigan in Hodemimes) available to all players and the command is stated if you use /commandlist. The rates are also 2x what they normally are (so 20/20/10) and have activated many of prontera's quests most of which HAVE the warp issue resolved but a few still have it and can be re-obtained without any progression loss at a quest board -usually after a turn in-).

Now, in order to gather useful data and do it in a short period if time I will request that everyone does the following actions so IF their character DOES experience any rollback we can get some useful data:

1. record the date & time for YOUR timezone whenever you: login, logout, or change characters, in a "text" file for later reference

2. take a screenshot of your character as soon as you login, and right before you logout or change characters

3. state if you lost items, skills and if your character LOCATION has changed along with levels/exp loss (screenshot will help determine previous location)

This way we can match your data up with our server logs and have a better idea of what is going on and why this issue is seemingly random and very selective. Reports lacking this data are not appreciated nor useful and will be treated as such. Hopefully this will only take a few days, and I will be rebooting the server periodically as that seems to be the only time when this occurs. We apologize for the inconvenience as this issue has come out of absolutely nowhere after months of testing and working and are doing our best to get it resolved so we can continue adding and fixing this server.

In your bug reports please also mention what method you used to log off (normal log off, used char select, kicked by gm, errored, etc). Thanks for helping us with this problem everybody ^^

I'm on now testing everything out.. for some reason, it seems faster than normal.

Good work guys, hope you fix the problem when you can. I'm sure everyone on the forum appreciates the work you're doing.

edit: had a play around - second weapon quest is pretty neat, works fine; i have two long swords now. Awesome!

Once again, huge massive big biggity big thankyous for doing your best to make this server work at its best.

Not too sure if this should be in this thread, but since its the debugging thread i'll post just incase:

Time: 12:45am GMT+10

I typed in /quit - it sat there for a bit, then it BSOD'd me & restarted my PC. Logged back into the game about 12:50am, no rollback.

and sure about the time and i didnt make any screenshot before loggging in and i got dc so i couldnt take a screenshot befor logging off
i didnt lose any item zeny skills exp clvl or jlvl i was moved back about 3-4 min after the rollback from where i was
and thats about it

No, you either never created the account, are making typos, or are not using the correct method to launch the game.. Go register another account for the server and use a simple username/password combo.

After very few reports, we have a possible cause isolated and patched on 12/5 around 6pm GMT-6. Either this will make it alot better and completely resolve the issue or make it worse....

it's a shame the progress made on debug server won't go to the normal one, i was doing so well (my auges T.T), by the way, i don't know is important or is a problem on my pc, but sometimes BGM sounds twice, one time it sounded 3 times XD

That issue is directly related to your setup, not the server or the client in any way as I have been able to reproduce that issue on another computer (not one of mine). It is similar to this issue but I have not had enough of those issues to attempt to troubleshoot it.

Fooby, I have this question, that I actually registered after the DEBUG server started at like 1st December or something and I am lvl 18 now. WILL MY CHARACTER BE DELETED????? ANSWER FAST PLS

Also for New Players, as of 5pm GMT -6 the Server Registration page has been changed to create accounts for the DEBUG server only. BEFORE THIS TIME it was created accounts on the normal server. If you wish to see what YggRO2 is like feel free to create an account but be aware all data will be removed and the old database will be restored after this issue is resolved.


I cannot state it more clearly then that. I may change my mind, and reset the rates to normal tomorrow but that is unlikely.

Then people did not read the MOTD when they login, read the name of the server at server seleciton as YggRO2 DEBUG, or read announcements which is a players responsibility not the staffs. Much like how people fail to read the RO2 Newbie readme even though it is linked to from 6 places and stated a requirement to read before playing. The rates are 2x the normal server rates of 10/10/5 also, which is why you leveled so quickly.

Hopefully in the next few days if there are no issues, it appears the issue has been resolved and the debug server will be removed. Due to the nature of these servers I determined in order to have any community left I have to appease the lowest common denominator, combined with the fact the debug took longer than expected due to lack of community assistance in the form of reports (all 3 reports) I have decided to keep the debug server's database and restore the normal rates.

So does this mean our debug server exp we've achieved will be carried over? or just go back to where we were at before the debug server went up?

It will be unnoticeable to players when we switch off the debug server to the official server (other than the server name at server selection, and the patch which will be soon to follow with some new updates we had to put on hold)
